Dead 12 V battery

The Lyriq at my dealer is a 2024 model with less than 10k miles on it and still smells like new inside. The problem is that it has a dead 12 V battery which is a red flag for me. First, the dealer is selling it with the dead battery at a very attractive price, so why not replace the battery and sell it like it's almost new? Does this mean there's a problem with it or am I overthinking this?

yeah, it's a red flag, but not always a deal breaker. A dead 12V in an EV can be common if it sits, but at 10k miles, it warrants scrutiny
and why didn't the dealer replace it? actually, that's the biggest question. It could be laziness, or they suspect a deeper issue they don't want to invest in

Did they update the software? This problem was supposed to be fixed with a software update long ago. How long have you owned it? Was it new when you bought it from your dealer?

Could just be sitting a while and the 12V drained, pretty common on EVs. How long has it been unused? maybe have the dealer run a full battery and system check before committing
