I just bought a new 2025 Lyriq. Everything seems to be working on it. I traded in my much-loved 2024 Equinox EV because I wanted a lighter and higher quality interior. I loved the quiet ride of the Equinox EV especially over rough roads. Most of the reviews said that the Lyriq was extremely quiet especially at highways speeds and smooth over rough roads except for a couple of reviews that said it was not. I was hoping the ride would be even quieter than the Equinox EV 2RS (21" wheels).
Our test drive in the Lyriq seemed to show that it was quieter, but we could not go over 60mph due to traffic conditions or over rough roads. Now that I have had time to drive it at 70mph and over different road conditions, I think I may have made a mistake. The Lyriq does not seem any quieter than the Equinox EV at 70 mph. Going over rough roads seems rougher and louder than in the Equinox EV. I could feel the rough road in my passage seat and the frame of the Lyriq vibrate going over large bumps which I could not feel the frame vibrate in the Equinox EV. Also, the Equinox EV 2RS seats were not ventilated and were more comfortable than the Lyriq's ventilated seats. I'm pretty sure the ventilated part inside the seat is what is causing the ventilated seats to be harder and less comfortable than the non-ventilated ones. We test drove a non-ventilated seat Lyriq, so maybe I should not have gone with the Luxury 3 trim. But I could only get the Oxford Stone Interior with the Luxury 3 trim, and I really love the Oxford Stone Interior. And the Luxury 3 trim comes with ventilated seats. Oh well, maybe the seats just need to be warn-in. Maybe it's the 22" wheels that contribute to the louder interior especially over bumps, but I can't imagine the difference would be that great between the Equinox EV's 21" wheels and the Lyriq's 22" wheels. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate it.
