SuperCruise lane change issue

On our first long road trip using SuperCruise, I noticed the car sometimes slows down behind slower traffic in the right lane instead of changing to the open left lane. If I signal, it will change lanes, sometimes staying there, sometimes moving back right. No curves, hills,or traffic blocking. Is this normal behavior or a problem with the system, or am I just expecting too much?

That's normal for SuperCruise, it won't always auto-pass unless conditions meet its lane-change logic. Signaling prompts it, but it may return right to follow its efficiency rules, not because something's wrong with the system.

Be sure Super Cruise is set to "Auto" lane change. It sounds like you have it set to only change lanes on-demand when you turn the blinker on. Yes, sometimes it takes time for the car to change lanes back to the right lane after it passes the slower car on the right.

Got it, that makes sense now. So basically its just following its own efficiency rules rather than an error, have you noticed if it behaves differently depending on traffic flow or highway type?

Ah, that could be it, i might not have it set to auto.
