Is it just me who realized that the cadillac lyric charge port door has a poor design?

I think a manual door is so much better in this case, even the media is making fun of it

How did that design even make it past testing? Seems like a manual door would've avoided all the issues people are having, was there even any real benefit to going motorized?

What exactly about the charge port door bothers you the most, its reliability, how it opens, or something else?

I totally agree with you. Hahaha. It could be better but I guess, it's not happening anytime soon unless there are Cadillac executives here masking as forum members LOL.

I love the Lyriq's charge door design. The door opens and it drops down and is out of the way. The Optiq's door opens and sticks out a mile. The Equinox EV's door opens manually and sticks out a mile. I'm glad I bought the Lyriq. So far, no problems after almost 2 months. I just wish it locked like my my past Kia EV6. I also wished the plug locked like my EV6. Instead, on the Lyriq, when you pull the pluf out without the key, the alarm sounds. If you are shopping, you might not get an alert right away on your app. Strange, the hinge design looks like the door could lock.
